This vase has two loops at the side of its tall neck and a squat rounded body. The crackled green glaze imitates that of Guan ware. This arrow shaped vase or touhu was inspired by the ancient bronze vessel that was used in the game of pitching arrows. Vases such as these were made at Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province. Crackled archaic shaped wares such as this would have been collected by scholars for use as altar vessels and heirloom pieces.
