Only Masters of the triad lodge had such seals, which they used as a sign of their approval when they validated membership certificates. The seals were important, because without their marks, membership certificates would be considered invalid. These seals were usually carved on wooden blocks, which were then dipped in vermillion or black ink and imprinted onto cloth or paper.
