Water-dropper

This small water-dropper in the shape of a fish, has underglaze iron-brown decoration. It was made in Si Satchanalai, one of the twin royal cities in the Sukhothai period from the mid 13th to the mid 15th century. Together, these formed one of the largest ceramic producing centres in Southeast Asia at this time, with large quantities of stonewares made for both the domestic and regional export markets.
