This postcard depicts a view of North Bridge Road looking towards High Street. It was constructed by G.D. Coleman between 1833 to 1835 and was built by convict labour. North Bridge Road was referred to by the Chinese as 'sio poh', which means 'small town' in Hokkien, to differentiate it from Chinatown that was considered 'big town'. The railings shown on the left define the boundary of St Andrew's Cathedral.
