Habib Noh, a respected holy man who was known for his kindness and generosity, died in July 1866 and was buried at Mount Palmer. His tombstone was built by Syed Mohamed bin Ahmad Alsagoff in 1890, while the steps and structure which houses the tomb was constructed from donations. The mausoleum is now administered by ‘Majilis Ugama Islam Singapura’ (MUIS).
