Stamp of 70-cent denomination commemorating the end of World War Two

This stamp was issued with the first day cover commemorating the end of World War Two. The first day cover features four stamps depicting scenes and documents from the immediate post-war Singapore under the aegis of the British Military Administration (BMA). The four stamps show a jubilant crowd celebrating the Japanese departure; the surrender ceremony at City Hall on 12 September 1945; women and children queuing for free salt, rice and sugar rations distributed by BMA two days before the formal Japanese surrender (seen here); and finally, a roadblock manned by British soldiers.
