The clear deep blue colour and high quality of this bangle suggest a Chinese provenance probably. It was a trade item. There are some slight signs of its having been used. While the bangle is supposed to have been recovered together with Majapahit (Indianised kingdom based in Java that existed between the 13th and 16th centuries) material, it is not certain that it is, in fact of such early date.
