‘Sakai’, a term used during the early days of British colonial rule refers to the indigenous people in Malay Peninsula. They are divided into three main tribal groups: the ‘Semang’ (or ‘Negrito’), ’Senoi’ and proto-Malay (aboriginal Malay).
