Chettiar canvas bed roller

This canvas bed roller was used by Chettiars in a 'kittangi' (shophouse) along Tank Road. At night, the Chettiars would roll the canvas over a pillow to form a bed. The bed roller would be folded up and stored on top of a 'pettagam' (storage chest) during the day.
