Description
What chirps, rustles, and hidden grooves will you discover in Singapore’s former largest natural bird sanctuary?
In this two-part workshop with sound artist Zai Tang, participants are invited to slow down and connect with the environment through sound, sight and touch.
The session begins with a guided soundwalk, where you’ll attune to the island’s vibrant soundscape, followed by a reflective sharing of our listening experience.
In the second half, turn your attention to texture through frottage — a playful and tactile technique of making rubbings using graphite and paper. Explore the unique surfaces around you, then come together to create a collaborative composition inspired by the landscape.
Along the way, learn more about the rich natural and environmental histories of Punggol and Coney Island. Tune in across your senses and you'll leave with a deeper connection to your environment.
