This is a silver bracelet in an open circle form, decorated with four rows of tight spirals at the two open edges. While the top and bottom edges are flat, this bracelet curves inward at its center position. This bracelet could be used by either men or women and was probably part of a dance costume. In Timor, metal jewellery is worn for self adornment and exchanged in marriage alliances. However, not all communities in Timor possess the technology of silversmithing. They depend on other groups in Timor or other islands in the Lesser Sunda Straits for their jewellery.
