Coming from Andrew Gn’s Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the sketch of each silhouette is stamped with an ‘AGN’ red seal. At this stage, the sketches provide an overview of the types of garments offered in the collection, ranging from top, pants, jacket, dress, to gown. Specifications such as dimensions and construction are indicated before each silhouette is being attributed with a fabric swatch. This is part of a group of archives from the designer’s studio that shows how fashion pieces are developed from sketch, to styling, to showcase. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
