This coat features jewel buttons and velvet details at the collar and cuffs. It is paired with a sleeveless mini dress with matching silver quilted motifs of mythical birds as on the coat. Andrew Gn spoke of how tales and folklores circulated by merchants around the world inspired this whimsical, fantastical Autumn/Winter 2020 collection. It also drew references from Ramayana and medieval mythologies, and a Norwegian fairytale he read growing up. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
