Gift of Andrew Gn

This white mini dress is overlaid with plumetis tulle at the top and vintage peacock lace on the skirt. Black guipure lace is used to form geometric shapes at the chest and to trim the edges of the sculpted sleeves. It comes from Andrew Gn’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection which looks to the artists from the early 20th century Bloomsbury Group, and Russian Constructivism for his inspirations. The rich surface textures reflect his attention to intricate detailing and savoir faire in textiles. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
