This reclining planter’s chair has a cane backing and a pair of wooden extensions/ flags that swivel out from under the arms to create elongated leg rests. Reclining chairs, also called Bombay and planter’s chairs, were brought in from India by the British and is suitable for used in the hot and humid Southeast Asia because of their cane baking. Recling chairs were designed for lounging or reading, usually accompanied by a low tea table.
