Published in Japan, this thread-bound book is part of a series of history books, possibly on western civilisation.This book was likely to belong to Tan Chor Lam, who was the chairman of Tong Meng Hui Singapore branch when it was first founded under the direction of Dr. Sun Yat Sen in late 1905. Such imported books were uncommon in Singapore and the effort Tan made to import it shows his early interest in gaining knowledge about western civilisation.
