This finely woven weft ikat breastcloth demonstrates the rich palette favoured by the Balinese weavers. Breastcloths were worn by women, wrapped around their upper torso. This cloth contains a variant of the pandang angket (a type of grass) motif derived from popular Indian trade cloths. The design is bordered with tumpal (triangular) or stupa shapes on the top and bottom.
