This is a picture of a room in the Raffles Hotel from the book 'Westward Ho'. This was published in New York in 1947. It included drawings by Hirschfield and words by the American humorist S.J.Perelman. This picture shows us what a typical room would have looked like, furnished with a fan and a mosquito net, with a tourist sprawled on the bed.
