This set of scribe's implements include a pen rest, knife (to trim the pen's nib) and a pair of scissors. The handles of the scissors are shaped in a calligraphic composition which reads, "Ya Fattah", ('Oh, He Who Opens). It is one of the 99 names of God, meaning 'God is the opener of all doors'. The scissors would have been used to trim the paper.
