This is a watercolour painting by A.T. Fransiz (fl. 1833-1834) of a two-storey European house with a veranda situated on Prince of Wales Island (Penang). The house was the residence of Sir Benjamin Heath Malkin, a colonial judicial official who served as Recorder of Prince of Wales Island Singapore and Malacca between 1833 and 1835.
