This is an aerial view of the Innoshima prisoner-of-war camp located beside the sea. It housed Allied prisoners captured by the Japanese during WWII. Fed on meager rations of rice, meat and vegetables, the prisoners were expected to perform menial labour that included installation of ships, electrical work and the unloading of coal.
